Through engineering, I will gain the knowledge and practical experience necessary to use creativity, math and science to solve not only today's problems but dilemmas that do not yet exist.

After learning that my uncle experienced low profits at his pizza restaurant, I helped him by performing a marginal analysis. The versatile skills required of an engineer would allow me to resolve greater problems using similar methods in distinct areas. Further, after creating a painless insulin injector at the Management and Technology Summer Institute, I decided that I wanted to blend engineering with entrepreneurship. Gaining these tools will allow me to not only design and manufacture a working prototype or process, but also market and commercialize my own innovations.

Studying engineering and entrepreneurship will provide a way of looking at the world that will empower me to tackle the inefficiency of systems globally, improving the quality of life for many.
